Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. Is there a way to stop the belt tracking off as this often damages the edges of the belt ?

A. Yes, all Advance standard conveyors come with tracking guides on the underside edges of the belt which keep the belt in position and stop it tracking off.

If you currently have a conveyor from another manufacturer that is experiencing tracking problems, there are a number of reasons you may need to consider:

Have your drum rollers been crowned ? This helps to keep the belt in position over the terminal rollers.

Is the framework all square & level ?

Are all the end rollers square to each other ?

Q. What material can i get my conveyor constructed in ?

A. We can manufacture your conveyor in anodised extruded aluminium, powder coated mild steel or stainless steel. Aluminium conveyors can be manufactured with heavier duty mild steel leg frames, or have stainless steel side guides/end stops etc. All conveyors are manufactured to suit customer specifications.

Q. What width belt can i have ?

A. Within reason we can construct your conveyor to suit any belt width. Standard widths are from as narrow as 72mm (with the A840 series belt conveyor) up to 1230mm (with the A8120 series belt conveyor). Other widths can be catered for on request.

Q. Can i get a belt conveyor made to food quality standard ?

A. Yes, we manufacture a range of stainless steel conveyors that are used in the food industry. From packaged food, to raw meat we can offer a suitable conveyor solution.

Q. Is it easy to change a belt on a standard belt conveyor ?

A. Yes. Standard conveyors are manufactured with modular ends (tension units), these are easy to remove and easy to fit back on to the conveyor once the belt has been changed.

Q. Is it possible to get smaller transfer points if i'm worried about our product transferring from one conveyor to another ?

A. Conveyors can be manufactured with 113mm diameter, 80mm diameter, 38mm diameter or 16mm diameter knife edge terminal rollers if product transfer is an issue. Belt types start to become a little more restricted the smaller the rollers get as some standard belts won't go round 16mm rollers. For more information you can contact the sales department.
